What to do in Oneonta or Cooperstown?

Upstate New York is bustling with a variety of activities and celebrations. Oneonta is home to the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Oneonta, and we are located conveniently just five miles away. We are also located close to the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame and the three baseball camps. We have the Farmers Museum, and many other museums and are galleries. If music is your passion, we have the Glimmerglass Opera House in Cooperstown, and the Orpheus Theater in Oneonta to provide you with excellent entertainment. There are also several restaurants and bars that have nightly music during the summer months.

Both Oneonta and Cooperstown have quaint main streets for shopping with many bistros, eateries, and tap rooms which also may have live entertainment and great food. There are also Farmers Markets on the weekends in both towns that offer local produce, flowers, and handmade products.

We are fortunate to have several local golf courses to satisfy players of all skill levels. Miniature golf, driving ranges, bumper boats, and bumper cars provide opportunities for family fun. There is hiking all over the area with designated trails, there is ample fishing in our streams and always lake related activities at Gilbert Lake.

The Cooperstown Wine trail offers an array of not only wineries, but breweries, a cider mill and a distillery. We have maps as do other establishments to help set you off in the right direction. Imbibe responsibly!

As always the location and friendly owner of the Brookside Inn at Laurens is the best place to stay while you spend your time visiting and relaxing in the peaceful country upstate New York.
